Enjoy of the hiking in some exceptional surroundings while you discover the process of production of the cheese IdiazábaL

The Idiazabal Cheese Route or GR 283 is a route approved by the Gipuzkoan Mountain Federation

1. ORDIZIA - SURE

We arrive to Idiazabal, cradle of the cheese that gives name to this route, where can visit the Monument to Pastor and the Centre of Interpretation of the Cheese Idiazabal

2. SURE - MIRANDAOLA

Afterwards, we ascend until Aztiria and descend again until Legazpia, where finalise the stage in the historical forges of Mirandaola, known by his legend.

3. MIRANDAOLA - ARANTZAZU

Going through Brinkola and surrounding the reservoir of Barrendiola, find authentic cabins in Jandoain.

4. ARANTZAZU - ETXEGARATE

From here, we ascend to the campas of Urbia, where the megaliths and the cabins reveal us the antiquity of this human settlement.

5. ETXEGARATE - LIZARRUSTI

The landmarks of the path look youngsters in comparison with the traces of those that inhabited these earths does thousands of years.

6. LIZARRUSTI - ORDIZIA

We direct us to Ordizia after going through Zaldibia, where find one of the most important markets of the Basque Country.

It discovers the true flavour of the Basque tradition in each corner of Idiazabal  Enjoy!
